APRIL
NEWSLETTER
Did you know that how you greet your child/loved
ones in the first 4 minutes of their day, sets the tone for their whole
day?
Try a little love and see how you both feel!
Is it really possible that Spring Break is truly
over? We hope you had a nice break. I am so glad we are
finally done with that winter…this year has passed so quickly! They
have all matured so much - - especially in the last few weeks. Take
a second and remember those first few days of school! When I look at pictures
from that time, even their faces have changed so much!! It has been
so much fun to be teaching them this year and this time of year is so much
fun for us--our time goes too quickly.
Our trip to the museum and Pizza Hut was great
fun!! Thank you for coming. We hope you checked out the pictures
on the webpage!
They are almost done with their letter books
and have worked pretty hard on them all year. We were commenting
on how the children’s skills have improved since the start of the books.
They are very proud of their work!! Keep the books over the summer
to review and "read". Hopefully very soon, we will be sending
home our number books that the Pre-K’s have been doing.
Applications for next year's school are available
in the church office, on-line or ask one of us. We have been so thankful
to have the privilege to work with your children this year! We want
to encourage you to remain active throughout the rest of your child's school
career! Your participation and encouragement can only contribute
to a better school experience for your children! The Health Dept. Shots
for Tots schedule is on our web page. This is the last month for
the Scholastic book orders. I would like to have those orders in
by April 7th/8th. Thank you so much for taking the time to read to
your children…you are establishing good habits with them and hopefully
having fun! Thank you again for all the time you have put into your
child's pre-school. . it has been a very special year! Miss Brenda
and I love to talk with the children about their own special memories of
our year..it is fun to see what they remember AND their perspective on
it!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Pre-K's will get their evaluations sent home,
as I am aware that most of you will be doing kindergarten clinic conferences.
If you have questions though about your little one's progress, feel welcome
to contact me. You do not need to schedule a conference unless you
want to!
We have set up our incubator and our baby
chicks will be due the week of the 19th! Please bring your children
in anytime during that week to catch all the excitement. We will
not be doing much classwork so that we can all enjoy the wonders of baby
chicks!! We will be enhancing our farm lessons with a trip to the
Del. Co. Farm Festival. We are attending Tues. April 6th and it is
absolutely free! We are meeting early at the Farm Days to avoid the
crowds that come after 9:30. Please check the calendar to learn when
your class is to come! Please come to the Memorial Building where
we will meet you inside the doors therefore please let us know if you are
not coming! Parents are to stay with the children, taking their own child
through the booths. One reminder: there are lots of other schools
there so keeping your child in-hand is essential so no one gets lost!
We think this will be a fun time for all and yes, you may bring siblings...it
is all free. There are cows to milk, lambs to shear, baby pigs and
chicks and even horses. You are welcome to stay as long as you want but
usually the tour takes about an hour. Come dressed for a "day on
the farm"!!
Our web page (www.centerchapelpreschool.com)
has lots of ideas for summer fun (June, July Aug. Calendars) with your
children! Check it out frequently! I want to encourage
you to give your children plenty of opportunities to play basketball, scooters,
etc.-- and just plain run! Children need lots of physical activity
to grow and gain co-ordination.
On Friday, May 14th at 10 AM for the AM Pre-K
Class and 8:30 for the PM Class, we will be having our Pre-School Graduations.
Only the Pre-K's are involved in this and more info on this later.
WEE ONES NEWS
We will continue on our letter books and are
so pleased with the improvements from the beginning of the year!
We will be having no regular school on April 13th due to conferences.
Hope to see you then! The ambulance will be visiting this month
to do a safety lesson with the children. Thank you also to Mrs. Burden--our
Class Mom--you have certainly done a fantastic job and I appreciate your
time! We had fun parties all year! Thank you, parents, so much for
all the party treats this year!
PRE - K NEWS
Thank you so much for all the party treats
this year! Thank you also to our Class Moms--you have certainly done
a fantastic job and I appreciate your time! We had fun parties all
year—and our dad’s day was the best ever! We have scheduled our annual
trip for the Pre-K’s to the Muncie Fire Station (thank you to Fireman Jim
Clevenger). However, because of the city closing our favorite station
.. #1 .. we are doing things a little differently this year! One
class will go to the Fire Station and the other will be with us, and an
urban forrester in McCulloch park, doing an ecology lesson--then we switch!
We will be riding a bus with a licensed bus driver but I will need some
moms/dads to be chaperones. I will only be using as many adults
as I need to get the kids there & back. If you come in
to sign up—
I will confirm with you about the trip. Thank you
for being willing to come with us!! Our trip is scheduled this way
as parking is an issue. We meet at school at 9:00 and should be back as
close to 11:45 as we can! If you would like to help on this trip, please
come in and sign up on the bulletin board! Keep your calendar and
this newsletter close so your child won’t miss anything! It is a
busy month!
