FEBRUARY NEWS AT PRE - SCHOOL

            Our winter is moving ahead rather quickly!  We have had a fun year and look forward to special events this month!!  Please keep our calendar in a safe place!!  A special highlight of the month is our "Dad's Day”!  Dad's come to school with the children (normal schedule although we may get done a little early) for a time of fun!  We hope all dads can come but if not, a special Grandpa, Uncle or other male person may come instead!  It will be a fun time and the children are really looking forward to it!!  This year especially, we would like the dads to come dressed as comfortably as possible!  Sorry but NO MOMMIES allowed!  You may check the web page for pictures when we are all done!  We will still be exchanging Valentine's and goodies that day!  The links are provided below for your child's class Valentine’s list.  Hopefully, the class moms will be contacting you if you signed up for this party.  After our "Dad" gathering, we will be having another "Healthy Foods Day" where we will munch on healthy foods all day long.  Please try to remind your little ones to try new things--they might be surprised about what tastes good and is healthy for them also!  During “S” week, we will be doing school in our slippers/socks all week! Yippee!!  It's a busy and exciting time...check your calendar to be prepared!  Two other notes:  Don't forget our web page address: www.centerchapelpreschool.com to see pictures from our fun.  Most dates on the web calendars are accurate through the end of the year.  If you do not have the web, stop in and Mrs. Wallace can make a copy of the calendars for you.  Also, don’t forget to scan your Meijer card when you shop so that Pre-School can benefit from your shopping.  If you have not signed up, remember it is NOT a credit card, just simply a card that links back to our school and we can receive a small percentage of your sales.  Marsh will not allow us to join their school program.  We are grateful to Meijer!!  You can share your Meijer cards with Grandparents, friends etc.!!  The Library card is also available and a great tool to help pass winter days.  Ask the teachers about it if you are interested!!

WEE ONES NEWS
      Please read your calendar - it's a fun and busy month.  We are talking about opposites, the color red (Clifford is a fun book to be sharing that reinforces this color) and keeping ourselves healthy. We have been counting to 10 and these little ones are coming right along!  Has your child gotten his bunny certificate to tell you how smart he/she is?  We are reviewing our shapes too!  You may send in the Valentines  anytime the week before and we hope to see dad for "Dad's Day"! During “S” week, they may come to school in their socks or slippers!!

PRE - K NEWS
     We hope to see Dad for "Dad's Day”.  The children are so excited about this day!!  Special note to Pre-K moms:  We are doing something different this year but still need to keep it secret, at this point.  Normally, for Dad’s day..there are no mommies allowed!  However, this year we ARE actually inviting you to come join us at the Fellowship Hall for a very special time!  Daddies are coming to school at their respective class times (12:00 PM Thurs. Feb. 25th or 9:00 AM Feb. 26th) but we ask that the moms come an hour later.  Therefore, if your preschool class normally starts at 12, then you will come at 1:00 PM; if you are in the M-W-F class, then you must come at 10 AM!  Thanks so much and we hope to see you in the Fellowship Hall!!  Please send the Valentine's in anytime our first day back to school after all this snow! I hope you can encourage your child to write his own Valentine's - - try doing a few each night. We will be making our number books this month!  Please keep them and use them to review with your child. They are doing a nice job on our letter books and are proud of them..they will come home as soon as we have finished letter Z!!  You can be reviewing shapes, numbers and letters with your child as we prepare for kindergarten clinics. This month Dr. Scott Trout-D.D.S. will be visiting our school to continue our lessons on keeping healthy!!  We want to thank Dr. Scott for coming in and talking to us about caring for our teeth.  He also will do a basic oral check on each child and we will send a note home if he feels a follow up dental visit is needed.  Immediately after the dentist is "S" week ..we can come to school in our socks/slippers all week!
